Hello in Chios Me and my husband have been visiting Chios many time, the first time moore than 10years ago - the alst time last september. This year we will be back in september. We like this time of the year in Chios. We love this fantastic island whith its great history. There is, however one thing we have been missing on our trips, we would like to meet a person whith great knowledge og the history who would like to telll us about it, maby go for a trip around whit us. We dont like the ordinary tourist trips. We would like to learn the history from one who loves Chios. We always rent a car for our stay, and have been around all the island many time. To Xristina:) I have checked out the forum and even posted there. The reason why I am not active there is that most of the posts are in Greek (naturally), so I don't understand them. I'm just waiting for more posts in English

I come on this site almost every day. I am suprised though to see that very few people are registered in the forum. Also very few people add their comments to it. I think that the forum is a very good way for all of us to keep in touch and to have different conversations about matters that involve our wonderful Island. i love the new site but it seems you have forgotten the nightlife aspect that makes up xios, i keep searchin the web for a list of nightclubs in xios to go to for the summers but i only come up with very little information. please make a link of nightclubs in xios, thanks. ps- when u do, send me an email informin me :)...will be there summer '02 :)

Amazing web site so glad I found it! I hope you can help me, I have been looking for Christina Polychronopolous, I was at Chelsea School of Art with her from 1971 –1975. In 1972 I came to your beautiful Island to see her and I worked for a relative of hers in the main town, they were Mr and Mrs Lavanos ( spelling may be wrong ) I took care of their two eldest children Angelique and Pandelise , they had a lovely house near the beach,I have a feeling their father worked in the Museum, Christina’s father was a lawyer.They lived a drive away from the main town. Christina would be about 48, I would so love to get back in touch with her, and also the Lavanos family. Your Island was very unspoiled when I was there, I wonder what it is like now? Congratulations on a wonderful Web Site. It is well presented and makes my heart pound with love for the Island of my ancestors. My father (George STAMOULIS from 'Kallimasia') emigrated to AUSTRALIA in 1958 and my mother (Betty KASMAS from 'Sykiada') in 1962. I visited Chios in July/August 2001, along with my girlfriend Jenny, and good friend Mark and once again fell in love with its beauty. And my many relatives and friends on the Island showed what true hospitality and love is all about. Happy New Year to all in Chios, take care of your beautiful Island.
